Hi, if you do not know, WiTrack is a real time positioning system monitoring and tracking WiFi devices, especially into indoors environments. The main application is developed in JAVA and based on the eclipse RCP architecture.
Presently, we are able to locate a device with a precision of about 5 to 10 meters, but there is a large amount of remaining work to do. Moreover, like WiTrack was at first a study end project with a core team made of students who have found great opportunities/jobs, we need to re-organize the team. Therefore, we are looking for technologists with an Open source mentality, I mean, ambitious, considerate, respectful and collaborative people. The goal is to build a team to pursue the project.
About further developments: • Need to improve (maybe restart from scratch) the Mapper (it is used to draw a map of the environment/building) • Need to improve the localization system (knowledge about wave propagation is very welcomed) • Make WiTrack device (the software to install on the device to track) compatible with different brands of WiFi cards. • Make WiTrack device work on many platforms (PDA – Smartphone…) • And more…
